Remote control windows media center

The remote control does'nt respond.
Is X10 the harware? When I click on the "portcommands" from the software,the
answer is:"windows hostproces does'nt work (Rundll32)" and cannot be solved".
I installed vista home premium again, but the problem is not solved.

How to manage?

Not all remotes work with Media Centre. What make of remote are you using?
Is it supposed to work with Media Centre?

Neil,

This remote came with the laptop. In the middle of the remote controle there
is aspecial windows command-with winlogo- to start up media center. The doc.
says that the RC is designed for windows vista-media center.
