Remote Desktop - Able to have one user logged in locally and one user via remote desktop?

I understand that Microsoft has terminal services for this exact reason, but
for crying out loud why not allow at least 1 connection via remote desktop
and allow the local user to log into the system?

What about a family computer where the father is on the road and logs in at
home (via remote desktop), while the children can do their homework at the
same time?!? this scenario does happen - Is there any solution to this using
Microsoft's RDP protocol with Vista?

This'll be available on Longhorn Server as it is on previous server OS's,
but not Vista. I see what you mean, but it's not possible without a Vista
client being it's own Terminal Server.

Pffft I'd love if it they did though - I feel your pain brother.

I would also like this feature. Microsoft: PLEASE let the Ultimate Edition
support one remote and one console connection.

It isn't going to happen. Microsoft has clearly defined the featureset of
remote connection and that definition includes the fact that any desktop OS
will support only one simultaneous connection.
