Remote Desktop client default settings

I apologize if this is a double-post. I'm using Windows Mail on Vista
Ultimate
and do not see my post listed.

Some weeks back I enabled the ability to share my local drives with a PC I
was remoting into. Ever since then this option is enabled in every RDP
session I start. I can go in and uncheck the option, but I'm having to do
that every time I remote into a machine, even though I'd not used this
setting on these machines before.

Is there a way I can wipe out any saved RDP settings en masse and start
over? I'm using Vista Ultimate SP1.

Sounds like you may have saved over the default Remote Deskto
configuration. No worries, this is a pretty quick fix

In *Vista*, click on *Start *and type in *MSTSC.EXE*. When the remot
desktop window opens, clear the value from the Computer box. So that i
is blank

Then click on *Options *and go to *Local Resources *tab. Uncheck th
share local drives option

Continue through each tab and set the options as you would like them t
be for each new *MSTSC *connection, then return to the *General Tab*
From there, verify the computer name is blank and then click on *Sav
As*.

In your *Documents* folder is a hidden file named *Default.RDP*, thi
is the default configuration that is used for all new Remote Deskto
Connections. You will save over this and replace it. This will correc
the issue with you having to uncheck the share local drives option fo
all new connections.

For connections you use frequently, you will want to repeat th
procedures above, then save them with a new name
