Remote Desktop issues after SP1 update

After installing the Vista Service Pack 1 update, I can no longer connect to
the remote machine's console session. Prioir to SP1 I could connect to the
console of the remote machine using Remote Desktop.

EX.
mstsc.exe /console /v:SERVERNAMEorIP

Now when I connect I get a fresh desktop and not the console. Has anyone
else run into this or found a fix?

I have run into this, my current workaround is using the "Remote
Desktops" mmc snapin and choosing the "Connect to Console" option when
adding a system. I have no idea why they took out the /console option,
I used it all the time

I just read that /admin replaces the depricated /console switch in new
versions of mstsc.exe. Give it a shot.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
Thanks. I came across this over the weekend and just had to to reinstall
SP1 and it seems to work just fine. Thanks for the post.

For problems with MMC snap-ins after installing Vista SP1 go here:
