remote desktop from xp

I have xp, sp2 and vista business on two machines. When I try to remote
desktop from my xp and click connect it does not connect. When I try by IP
address it connects. I am in a windows 2003 domain. All machines are part of
my xyz domain Anything new about vista I need to be aware of?

You can try to use an lmhost file for name resolution. To do so, add a
lmhost file to your Windows XP machine according to the steps on the
following page.

Note that you can add the IP address and computer name of your Vista machine
to that file without quatation mark but with the right spacing. Then make
sure lmhost check is enabled according to the steps on the second linked
