Removal of 2003 DC post Exch 2007 schema update

We have a subdomain with some 2000 DCs and 1 2003 DC. The 2003 DC was put in
place to allow implementation of the Exchange 2007 schema update. I have now
been told to remove it.
It it possible to remove the 2003 DC from the subdomain, leaving only 2000
DCs?

Thanks for any advice.

Iain

I assume that the FFL and DFL is only Windows 2000. Is that correct?

Yes, that is indeed the case.

I've haven't seen this scenario yet, but I don't see why not as long as both
FFL and DFL levels are only at 2000.

Hello IainM,

As mentioned from the other with the correct functional level you can, but
as Ace said why will you remove the newer OS DC instead the of old one?

Best regards

The story is that I carried out the schema update late at night, and found
that a sub domain (which a separate department owns) didn't have a 2003 DC,
so I installed one to continue the process without permissions of the
separate department.

The IT support section of this department now wants it removed. I think this
route will be easier than facing the inevitable politics if I don't.
So, if it's possible to just remove the 2003 DC, all the better.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I don't see any issues with this.
