I have a Toshiba 2G U3 enabled flashdrive that i am using solely for the
readyboost function, drive letter (J. Has been working without issue. (As
far as i know, whether it has improved performance is another discussion
altogether...) I have had to remove it and then re-insert it and since then
the drive letter has changed to (N and now i cannot change/enable/disable
the readyboost functions in the drive properties and it is still saying it
has the 1.7GB used that i had allocated for readyboost. Can i resolve the
issue by simply formatting the drive and re-setting the readyboost function?

Any advice would be great.

I'm guessing that windows will not let you use the drive for readyboost,
because you have a large readyboost cache file sitting there from the
previous installation. So you need to remove that file.
What I would try is to use windows explorer to navigate to your N: drive and
delete the ReadyBoost.sfcache file you should find there. Now if you right
click on the drive, you should be able to set it up as a new readyboost
drive. Formatting is a bit more drastic, but should also work.
