When trying to uninstall SP2(Home edition) (several
problems with it) through the add/remove programs option,
I encountered a message that doing so will potentially
damage or effect operations of most programs on my
system. At this point I need to know whether or not I
should back up my system and files? Also, will removing
the SP2 in this way create more damage or be okay? How
should I remove the SP2? Thanks.

If you post the problems that you have with SP2, it is just possible that
somebody might be able to help without the need for uninstalling it..
