For those of us who will never, or rarely, use the "Add
Email" line in WLM, is there a way to hide or remove it?

Suggestions appreciated.

There is NO " Add Email " or " Add Email account " line at the left hand
bottom ( it is called Folder Pane ).
Mine is called : " Add Newsgroup Account ".
NO, it is NOT because we have different WLM versions. We have the SAME
current version.
On the WLM window, other than those options listed in the Tool Bar, NOTHING
else can be removed nor hidden .... NOTHING.
Do they really bother you that much ?
Before you have WLM, how many did you want to remove/hide in Windows Mail ?

That's what shows on my screen also, when I'm reading
newsgroups; when I switch to mail it says, on MY screen, Add
e-mail account. Is that absent on your screen when you are
in the "mail" mode? If it is NOT there, then I hope you can
tell me how you were able to hide it.

So far it seems that way. :-(

Over the years, and mostly from newsgroups, I have learned a
number of ways to improve the use and appearance of various
programs - techniques which were not to be found in the
guide books sold at Borders, or in the help function in the
software. For all those tips I am grateful, and with that
as background I have sought answers here (this newsgroup)
about ways to do what I'd like to do in what is a new
program to me - WLM.

"That much" is hard to express, compare, and/or quantify.
Obviously it bothers me more than it does you. At my desk I
use a stapler, a pair of scissors, and a tape dispenser
perhaps once a week - and it would bother me if I was forced
to leave them sitting on top of my desk all the time. I
prefer to keep them in a drawer that is handy, and to
retrieve them, use them, and return them to their drawer on
the infrequent times I use them. Perhaps that analogy gives
the flavor of my preferences about items on the screen that
I never or rarely use.

That was about 2 years ago, and I remember spending a few
weeks improving the appearance of the screen, but I don't
remember what I could hide and what I couldn't.

Create and use a "compact" Folder view.

In fact, I'd really prefer no "compact Folder view"
so what I do is use a normal mode window which is
permanently shifted off screen enough that I never see
whatever it is that I put in there to satisfy its requirements
(Outbox apparently.)

No, Windows Live Mail cannot be customized in that regard.
