Some applications that you install will place a system tray icon in the corner of your PC, appearing every time you turn your PC on. This takes up valuable space, but thankfully it is easy to hide.

Right click on the task bar and click Properties and then the Notification tab.

This will bring up a box listing all of the applications you have that may appear in the system tray area. You can choose to "hide" any icons that you don't want to show, reducing the system tray to a more manageable size.

Once you are done, the system tray will have an arrow that you can click to view any hidden icons.
