I seemed to have an issue with some workstations (fresh new install of XP
SP2) and using Microsoft Update. I have no problems with using Windows
Update but as soon as I download and install Microsoft Update I can no
longer do updates. The PC will take forever once you selected Express or
Custom then erros out with a message

"This website has encountered a problem and cannot disply the page you are
trying to view. Take the following steps to try solving the problem."

It suggests you refresh the page, clear your temporary Internet files and or
close and reopen IE. I would prefer ro remove and just go bach to using
Windows Update but if someone knows why this is happening and can offer a
suggestion then please do so. Thanks in advance.

Visit MS Update after the initial system scan, do not choose either
Custom nor Express.
Instead click the Change settings link in the left frame.
In the right frame, towards the bottom, is a box that needs to be
unchecked in order to revert to WU.
Be sure to click " Apply changes now " or a similar button. ( Currently
checking from the WU site, not MU, so the wording may differ )
