Remove MS Net Framework 1.1--Get Back XP Welcome Screen Logon?

I had to install Microsoft Net Framework 1.1 to use another
application that I have since removed from my PC.

Net Framework did not allow me to use the "Welcome Screen" log in for
Windows XP Pro SP2. This is the screen that lists all the users and
allows one to click, rather than requiring one to enter the user name
in a blank box.

If I remove Net Framework using the Control Panel Add and Remove
function, will I be able to set my user logon to the simpler "Welcome
Screen"?

I have no interest in any features of MS Net Framework now that I have
junked the software that required its use.

Thanks.

"did not allow me to use"
If you can't, there is something else wrong with your computer since
that update does not remove that capability.

Start/Run
Type "control userpasswords2" ENTER
Uncheck "Users must enter..."
Click OK and select the account you want to automatically logon.
Follow prompts.
Next boot, you will not need to enter the password.

You can uninstall it if you want from Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel.
But I would suggest leaving it since it may be needed again by another
program.
