we want to remove the old update from disk (the update before 2004, for
example), because we don't have enough space.

Thanks

I want to Save Space and delete unnecessary files after installing a
Windows Update patch or Service Pack.
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spack.htm

The above shows one how to delete the uninstallation folders of the
updates. That's what you want to do, *not* remove old updates.

I want to save space on the server (where WSUS is installed), removing
update installed in the clients

You should never remove update content from the WSUS Server that is
currently *installed* on a client system, as you may need to RE-install that
content, and then where would you be?

Removing content on the WSUS Server requires you to:
[a] Decline the update (which means no other system can ever install the
update), and
[b] Run the Server Cleanup Wizard (which will remove the unneeded
content from the content store).

And hope that nobody uninstalls that update and you fail to recognize that
it's once again Needed (and not approved).

Dear Lawrence,

If all workstations have got XP SP2 installed, can we decline XP SP1 and
regain some disk space ?

Thanks
Peter
