I am running windows vista home premium. I have deleted some of the users
that I had set up on my computer through the control panel/user
accounts/manage accounts. The account have been removed but in the folder
"Users" on drive c/ there are still folders that were set up from the old
users. I have tried to delete these folders but even though I am the
administrator I keep being told that the folders can not be remove as they
are open in another programme.

I have no idea what programme it could be open in or how to find out. these
folders are all empty as far as I can see and just want to get rid of them.

Please help... thanks

David

Or reboot. If that fails, boot into safe mode & try again.

The right way of deleting a user profile is to use the profile
applet, which is accessible from the Advanced tab of the System
applet in Control Panel. (User Profiles).
