Is there an edition of WLM that removes all the "questionable" material for
small business users? The editions we have show video ads, backgrounds and
nudges with ? women (filters blocked if I use descriptive adjectives) . . .
or a way to block all this?

Hi Brandon,

Download the newest version directly from this link:
http://get.live.com/messenger/overview

Uninstall the current version. Reboot.

Now install the downloaded version. This allows you to run Messenger
closed, not open, so the ADS are not being seen. Just enable Alerts to see
who logs in.

Also Disable the Video Carousel by unchecking it in the General Tab.

I'm already running the current version 8.1. I'm not sure what you mean by
running WLM "closed" instead of "open". WLM is always closed unless someone
sends me a message.

Also, there must be some registry entries that control this because we have
one machine that doesn't have ANY ads.

Greetings,

A-Patch or Mess Patch will do this for you (just Google them).

What is a A-Patch or a Mess Patch? And can you give me a more specific term
to Google?

Hi,

I'm afraid both are against the EULA and therefore I don't provide any support besides the
name. If you copy/paste either term to a search field, it will be the first result so I'm
unsure of the difficulty.
