Graham:
From the sharkyexterme.com forum:
1. Double click on the icon to open the folder.
2. Select Tools --> Folder Options
3. Select Settings Tab.
4. Click Setup button.
5. Choose Do Not Show Share-To-Web Folder.
Note, this does not remove share to web, it simply removes it from view.
You also might want to check the services list and disable it there as well.
Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services.
