Hi,
Windows Update just downloaded the XP SP2 to my computer
but now, before I've made the installation, I realized
that I don't have enough space on my hard drive. So, I've
decided to not install the SP2 yet. The downloaded
installation files is still on my hard drive though. Can I
remove these files somehow? And where do I find them?
Thanks!

Basically, you'll need to clean out the Download folder for WU5

Delete the Contents of the DataStore and Download folders.

1. Click Start.

2. Choose Run.

3. In the Run box, type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution.

4. Click OK.

5. Delete the contents of both the DataStore, EventCache and Download
folders.

Have a look at:

>Hi Anders.

I've done the same as you but with plenty of room on my
puter---I just want to wait. After speaking with a tech
at Windows, I've learned I can just let the icon sit it
in the systems tray and when I'm ready to upgrade, I'll
use a disc. Look in the ADD/REMOVE program and I think
you'll see it's not there. Those downloaded files (not
being the whole SP2 package) are SOMEwhere, but they
shouldn't be a problem. Have you noticed anything
different in the way your computer works? I haven't. I
have confidence things are the same and no extra space
has been used on my hard drive. LD

And that's the problem! I don't have that much space and I
need all I can get.

Thanks for your time!

Hi

For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
after a successful SP2 installation, take a look here:
