Remove updates before resarting??

Compaq ProLiant ML370
Windows NT4 SP6
Smart Array 431 controller

I’ve just run Windows Update on the system and installed the Security Rollup
Package. I’ve been told I may have an issue with the server not booting after
the restart as per this article.

Although my specific model array controller isn’t listed (Smart Array 431);
it does have mention ‘Smart Array Controller’ leading me to believe it could
very well happen.

Question: Can I somehow unload the Security Rollup Package BEFORE restarting
the server???

Brett;
You can try to uninstall through Add/Remove Programs.
But since many updates are not fully installed until after a reboot, there
may be other problems.
Now you need to determine what the possible risks of each are and then act
accordingly.
In the future, research before installing any updates.
