It's not necessary to generate a new SID in order to 're-register' a
previously registered system.

NewSID knows nothing about the SusClientID value.

Closest place I know of ..... here.
The "official" place.... the 300-some pages of Microsoft supplied
documentation, including the WSUS Deployment Guide, the WSUS Operations
Guide, three "Getting Started" guides, and the SUS-to-WSUS Migration Guide.
The only thing you should need to do to get a previously registered system
to re-register, is power it back on.
