Under Windows XP you could change a password for an account in a
domain even though your machine was in a workgroup via the
Control Panel ... User Accounts (pick an account) ... Manage Network
Passwords ... select a stored connection .. Properties; and on the
dialog box is a Change button which allows you to change a Domain
password without being a member of that domain.
You are just required to enter the old and new passwords.

This button "Change" has been removed from Vista.
Has the functionality been moved elsewhere.

This is required to allow access to resources in untrusted domains and
still be able to reset the account you are using password.

I know - madness.
The real killer is the subtle line "... to change the password, you
have to do it elsewhere ..."
Other then terminal serving to some other PC there does not appear to
be a way to change a password on a Doman from a workgroup machine now
! this is actually an issue for me.
