Removed NS but old shares still displaying in \\ourdomain.local

We are currently trying some DFS configurations across our WAN. We've now
removed all name namespaces and replications but still have some unreachable
folders displaying in the \\ourdomain.local

Is this a case of cleaning up AD using the DFSUTIL tool?

If so, how?

The weird thing is we never created these folders at this level, these were
folders at \\ourdomain.local\data

Thanks
