Removing entry of Ubuntu from list of Operating systems at boot-up...?

Hi,

I have windows vista x64.
Recently I installed Ubuntu using its Wubi installer but when it failed to
uninstall properly I deleted its all folders and files manually. But I am
not able to delete its entry from list of OSes at boot-up?

How can delete its entry...?

Type in MSCONFIG in the Start Search box. Then click on the MSCONFIG
icon that appears. In the System Configuration window, click on the BOOT
tab. Then click on the errant Ubuntu entry and click Delete.

But It does not show up in MSCONFIG,

What can I do?

1. Select the Vista Recovery Console at normal Vista startup
2. Select the Windows installation drive - you need to enter by number
(not by drive letter)
3. Enter your admin password. If you don't have one, just press the
Enter key.
4. After #3, you seemingly are just sitting on a C: pathway (assuming C:
is where the Vista install resides). However, Vista is waiting for your
next command! Enter fixmbr, and hit enter... done!
5. On restart your system should boot straight to Vista.

Was long ago but when I dual booted Windows and Linux, linux installed its
own boot manager (lilo) onto the harddrive. Not part of Windows therefore
doesn't show up in MSCONFIG. As in your case the linux boot manager was left
on the drive after linux was removed. Unfortunately I forgot what I had to
do to get rid of it. :-)
