After I installed ver. 3 I went to "Add/Remove" in control panel and tried to
uninstall ver 2 and get the error mssg that leads to this KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906894/en-us
Unfortunatly Im not really clear what they want me to remove. Do they mean I
need to uninstall ver 3 then ver 2 and then only add back ver 3 or am I
totally off base on this?

Any advice/enlightenment appreciated
Jess

There seems to be a misunderstanding with .NET that a lot of people get
confused or are no knowledgable about .NET. Going from .NET 1 or 1.1 or 2.0
or 3.0 do not upgrade your current version. These are totally different
software packages. So if you have a program that uses .NET 2.0 and you
download .NET 3.0 and remove .NET 2.0 then that program will not work
anymore.

I am aware of that. However I also beta test some apps/drivers for ATI and
need/want to test app compatability with Version 3. To the best of my
knowledge I have no other apps that even use Net right now but to get the app
to use ver 3.0 the other versions need to be gone so it defaults to using 3.0.
