removing Updates To Install from list

I'd appreciate any help here.

I changed my Win Updates setting to automatic (I've since changed it back to
Notify). Now there is a particular update in the "Choose Updates to Install"
window that I don't want to install. How can I eliminate this item from the
Updates list and how can I remove the underlying that was downloaded?
