Renaming a file in Windows Vista is very simple and can be performed one of two ways. First, locate the file you wish to rename and right click on it:

Now, click rename and then type in the new filename:

You can also rename files by clicking on the file and pressing F2, this may be slightly quicker than the right click method.

If you wish to batch rename files, select multiple files by dragging a box over them and then perform the same routine. Filenames will be appended by numbers, i.e. Filename (1), Filename (2) to differentiate themselves.
