Hi all,
Thank you for the help, but nothing works. I am the sole user of this
computer, I am logged as admin and seem to have full control and ownership
but I still get the message " this folder does not exits" when ever I try to
rename a folder.
this is not funny...

I don't find it funny that microsoft seems to be ignoring this major problem,
I've tried every suggested fix in every forum, and still "file does not
exist" is driving me nuts. Every file or folder is "New File xxx".

Dear Yael
Frustrating problem I know ...
Refer to the link below to fix the problem.
I suggest you have someone assist with some experience in fixing registry
errors.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934160

This will fix your problem.
Best Regards

Doesn't work...I have the same problem with "file or folder does not exist."
I have done everything, nothing works.

I seem to have the same problem, no solution, but a hunch that this has to do with explorer.exe malfunctioning. Guess it was windows update that did it. The reason for this hunch is that I CAN change folder names in the command line, but not in explorer...
