Renewing Cert for Subordinate (Issuing) CA in PKI

Could someone point me to documentation on the procedure for renewing the CA
cert for an issuing CA? I've searched google and Microsoft and can't find
this procedure.

Our PKI infrastructure includes an offline root CA, two issuing CAs and a
policy CA. The issuing CA's certs are set to expire this month.
