Hi
Had to do a complete repair installation after a failed SP2 upgrade on XP
Pro. Now when I go to the Windows Update site, only 1 update is listed. Yet
when I look at Add/Remove Programs, only 3 Hotfixes are listed.
Are my previous updates still working and therefore the Windows Update site
and History site are correct (in which case, why are they not listed in
Add/Remove Programs?), or do I need to somehow "reset" my hisory of
successful downloads in order to reinstall all of the updates?
Thanks
Sarah
P.S. Have downloaded the SP2 Blocker!

You could try this utlity and see what it says.
Windows XP Patch: Qfecheck.exe Verifies the Installation of Windows XP
Hotfixe
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...A-BFAB8CFCCC03
It has to be started from command line windows.
start run cmd then qfecheck.exe

Hi

I suggest you download and run the Microsoft Baseline Security
Analyzer (MBSA):

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA):

The Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer allows administrators to
scan local and remote systems for missing security patches as well
as common security misconfigurations. More information on MBSA is
available at:

and

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 1.2 Q&A

It has it own newsgroup as well:
