repair my sidebar wallpaper

I'm fair at fixing most things on a computer, but this one has me stumped.

I installed an updated TV and driver, and things were semi fine for 2 days.

Then today the wallpaper gadget just up & quits posting images from F:\zdir\pix
as wallpaper.
The gadget hasn't completely failed. It will use those images in 'default
wallpapers'. Looks like 5 blue skies with very little change from 1 to the
next. But all other folders are no longer working.

There was a new version of the wallpaper gadget, but it failed the same way..

I hate it when things seemingly quit for what seems no reason, but only HALF
quit.
