Had the same problem with critical update 828026 as everone elso. Did the
solution from Bonnie. I renamed the WMP.Dll file to 828026.reg. When I scan
for updates it shows the update is installed and no other critical updates to
install, but when I start my computer the windows update pops up on the
taskbar and when I open it, of course it shows that 828026 needs to be
installed. My system is ME.
Anyother suggestions??

Try installing the latest version of WMP for your system if you don't already have it.

Take a look at the posts dated 2/23/2006 Listed under Thank you PA Bear. You
will find detailed info which bear, Maurice and Jupiter helped me resolved
the same situation you are now having.

TaurArian, Since I have version 9.0.0.334 should I install version 10, or
would it be better if I do the whole thing that Jupiter suggests. Just
trying to find the easy way out. If there is one!
Thanks
