Repeated attampts to install KB954459 (in XP)

Hi, I'm running XP Pro v5.1 SP3, and automatic update keeps trying to install
"Security Update for Windows XP (KB954459)" on shutdown.

No error messages, but same attempt happens every time at shutdown.

Tried manually installing update but same process happens at next shutdown.

Tried to follow suggetion elsewhere on here but that only led to a tool for
Vista, not XP.

Anyone help please?

Has anyone mentioned any solutions? I have had a similar problem. I run XP
version 5.1 SP3, and an automatic update keeps trying to install something
(don't know what) on every shutdown (when the power cord is plugged in... if
I'm running off the battery, it doesn't try to update). Is this a virus
issue?
