repeated critical update

My computer is on automatic updates and I have discovered it keeps
downloading KB834840 and asking me to install it. This I have done for the
last 7 days and I still dont know whether it has installed. Help please. XP

Have you checked the list in Add or Remove Programs to see if it shows up
there? Make sure you enable "Show updates" at the top.
