Repeated message after installation

I have noticed in my Windows Update history, that the Security Update for
Windows XP (KB835732) has a file size of 0KB. When updates are loading, this
repeatedly shows up as a necessary update. After installation, the history
confirms that it was successfully installed, only to reappear when checking
for updates. I noticed only because when trying to load Windows Defender
Antispyware, I receive a prompt that says that Windows XP SP2 needs to be
first loaded. Automatic updates is on, and this happens repeatedly.

IS SP2 installed ? This update is not for XP SP2, so one has to assume
that the system is still on SP1.
Have you attempted to manually download the update, closed IE,
temporarily disabled the installed antivirus software, and then
attempted to install it ?

Has the NetMeeting folder been moved from C:\Program Files or has it
been tampered with (i.e. files deleted) ?

Try the Resolution in this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915105

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender Beta2
support and comments. This is not one of them.
