I noticed that updates installed before closing my laptop which is running
Vista Business.
When I rebooted it showed 'configuring updates' for a long time and
eventually starts . However, on closing it installs 7 updates again. On
reboot the same process occurs. If check on updates there are no updates
available. when i look at installed updates it shows many. [i presume the
same 7 over and over] have failed. When i follow the help instructions and go
to updates again it shows 7 are available[ despite of 'successful updates!!!!]
After rebooting as instructed the whole process repeats. It is really
frustrating doing these repeated installs and the long time it takes to start
up is most annoying. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance. There seems to be no way to get to Microsoft directly

I'm having the same problem, but with 5 updates that keep repeating. It's
getting really old now.
