I meant to say I couldn't update my files after the early April automatic
updates. So I did a Restore and now I have 8 downloaded and uninstalled files
which I am scared to mess with. I don't know how to get rid of them without
installing them it doesn't give me that option. If I "go for it" and install
them ALL will the problem reoccur and then "fix itself" in a manner of
speaking with the 4/25 updates (which are 2 of the 8 uninstalled files)?
Currently the computer is working fine and I am scared of MS Updates now.
Thanks so much for any help you can give...

Hello Sue,

If this is from website at Windows Update, there's no problem.

If this is from Automatic Updates, then as long as they are from April
25 & onwards, that is ok too.

If Automatic Updates is prompting you, click the icon in system tray --
to get the window on screen. (do it again if it minimizes). You want
to select "CUSTOM" option. Then look over the list. Un-select an
item IF you do not want it.

Again, the major issues with update 908531 were taken care of on April
25.
