repost: modem locks up

downloaded 8.5. didn't solve the problem. however it didn't lock up quite
as much as before. Any thoughts?

turns out after hours of disabling everything from my windows firewall and
modem firewall and disabling my internet security suite, and even going to
messenger version 6.5 the problem is my pile of crap modem that the dsl
company supplied. It cannot handle the flow of traffic when i have my
wireless router hooked up. When i unhok wireless it runs 8.5 no problem.
anyhow thought i would post in case anyone else has this problem. btw the
modem is a visionnet 202+ modem(it's a pile).
