Advised procedure for REINSTALLNG abscent 'Send To' function;
(all files are chk'd, to be visible)

1] copy all valuable files to external HD;
2] delete, reformat (main) HD;
3] install Win XP;
4] then, on top, install from Vista: 'Anytime upgrade'- Vista Ultimate.

YOUR advise is greatly appreciated!

No. You don't need to go through all that.

That said, you should be backing up your valuable data to external media on
a regular basis anyway.

I've tried that.

Cannot add a location, to SendTo, when SendTo DOES NOT EXIST!

No need to shout. Yelling at people trying to help you is counterproductive.

1. What changed to cause the problem?

2. What have you already tried?

3. If you create a new user account, is the SendTo folder there?

4. What version of Vista do you have? You can't install XP on top of Vista
so it would appear that the advice you got was to do a clean install of
Vista.

5. If you type "shell:sendto" (no quotes) in the Start Orb>Search box, what
is the path of the folder that opens when you click on the link in Results
above? Or if you get an error message, please quote it exactly without
paraphrasing.

6. Did you use some sort of "registry cleaner/optimizer"?

7. Have you tried the System File Checker?

Start Orb>Search box>type: cmd
When cmd appears in Results above, right-click and choose "Run as
administrator". This will give you an elevated command prompt. At the
prompt type:

sfc /scannow [enter]

I will continue, with your checks ... it seems I'm focusing- in on the
culprit

Well there you go. Just another one of the myriad reasons not to use a
registry cleaner. If RegCure has an undo feature, use it. See this thread
about registry cleaners:

http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099

After running RegCure's undo feature (and let's hope it has one), uninstall
it. If RegCure doesn't have an undo feature then first uninstall it and
then do a System Restore to before you used RegCure.

Drag desired location, becoming Shortcut icons, to Dsktop;
Drag Shorts. to SendTo folder:
