reset MSDE password for WSUS 3.0

I recall the MSDE password for the SA account was blank in past editions. I
would like to use the MSDE engine for a new WSUS 3.0 install I am doing, but
I have searched High and low and can't find out if this is still an issue, or
how to reset the password if it is.

I have tried
osql -E -d mf_enterprise -Q "sp_password NULL, 'newpassword', 'sa'"
and this does not work with WSUS 3.0
