Resetting Passwords

I am working on developing a Password Rest solution for my organisation. We
want to update the Gina..dll to be able to provide the user a facility to
reset password by answering few questions. I would like to to have some
suggestions or direction on how to accomplish this. Please guide me to any
material which deal with this subject.

Have you already looked at ILM/Forefront Identity Manager? it just does
what you want.

As i said we want to in-house develop an application for this purpose,
instead of buying a ready made tool..

Yeah, I understand. Just wanted to show you options. Customizing GINA
(or other password related parts like custom Password Filters) aren't an
easy job. They're placed in critical parts of the environment, called
multiple times a minute/second. You better test that right before you
roll that out.

Looking at the effort, it might not be too expensive buying a third
party solution that fits your needs compared to the expenses you have in
defining, developing, testing and maintaining a custom solution. You
just need to ask yourself how "custom" your solution needs to be
