Resolution : How to Install the Security Updates for Word Viewer(KB917346)and Excel Viewer (KB918425)

The updates will fail unless the installation files are still in the
ORIGINAL location as when the Viewers were installed.
If either wdviewer.exe or xlviewer.exe have been moved or deleted, the
updates will ***not** install.

Resolution : If the .exe's have been deleted|moved, uninstall the
Viewers from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
If they've been deleted, download them from the MS Download Center :

Word Viewer

Next, download the Security Updates :

Security Update for Word Viewer 2003 (KB917346)

Security Update for Excel Viewer 2003 (KB918425)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...splayLang%3den

Save all of the above.
Next, create a folder and store them in ***ONE*** location only.
EX: In My Documents, create a folder and name it Viewers
Move all of the above files to the newly created folder.

Now install the Word Viewer and then install Security Update for Word
Viewer 2003 (KB917346).
Install the Excel Viewer and then install Security Update for Excel
Viewer 2003 (KB918425).

REMEMBER - if any subsequent Security updates are offered for either of
the viewers, than the original installation file ***MUST** be in the
ORIGINAL location that the viewer was installed from or they will fail.
