How to resolve potential Windows 2008 upgrade and compatibility pr

According to Technet article:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc731130.aspx we should use the
use ‘winnt32.exe /checkupgradeonly’ to identify potential upgrade and
compatibility problems before upgrading to Windows 2003.
This application no longer exists on the Windows 2008 CD….. :s

According to the Help and support on the Win2008 CD, it is recommended to
use the Application Compatibility Toolkit. However this toolkit evaluates
‘application compatibility issues before deploying Microsoft® Windows Vista,
a Windows Update, or a new version of Windows® Internet Explorer® in your
environment’ – not Windows 2008.

Is there a tool that can be used to check hardware and software
compatibility issues before upgrading to Windows 2008?
