Stop the Automatic Updates service, clear the contents of
the DataStore and Download folders, and restart the
Automatic Updates service
Basically, you'll need to clean out the Download folder
for WU5
Delete the Contents of the DataStore and Download
folders.
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type %windir%
\SoftwareDistribution.
4. Click OK.
5. Delete the contents of both the DataStore,
(perhaps also the EventCache)and Download folders.
Have a look at:

You will lose your WUv5 History listing - but nothing to
worry about.
