I did that 2months ago and all dell recommended updates are installed,
checked diagnostic utilities to verify any problems with hardware components
and they passed the test
dont know what else to do?

havent installed any new software or hardware recently

This sounds like a network card driver. There was a network card driver
update last week. It may have been causing issues. I would go to the Dell
site and reinstall their version of the NIC.

Do you have a regular RJ45 style wired NIC (Network Interfac
Connection) on your computer? If yes, try updating the drivers for tha
also

Because the Blue Screen specifically mentioned TCPIP.SYS, I'd guess th
some program you recently installed replaced this file, and it is no
causing errors. TCPIP.SYS is part of windows, and it's the protoco
driver for all TCP/IP traffic over your LAN or the Internet. Som
programs can improperly "patch" this file in a vain attempt to boos
TCP/IP performance

You can try to fix this as follows:
- Click the "Start Orb
- Type "CMD" in the search box, without the quote
- When you get the search results, right-click on "Command Line"
then select "Run As Administrator
- In the command window, type "SFC /scannow", again without quotes
and press enter
- If the System File Checker finds any faults, you'll be prompted t
insert you Windows DVD so that it can copy a clean version of th
files
- When SFC is done, reboot the computer.Report back if this has helped some

Sorry - Tech Speak. Yes the NIC is the network card. Because there is an
error in tcpip.sys it is suggesting that it is the network card.

The most recent windows update included an update for the intel Network
cards. However, I have found sometimes the ones from the manufacturer can
cause issues if distributed through Windows Update.

I would update the drivers on both your wireless card and your regular
network card.

Cheers,
Lara

Thanks very much Lara i did download the latest updates of Dell's wireless
wlan card and the machine seems that it is now stable .
Before I was using a wired adsl modem until the blue screen started now im
with a wireless router to connect to the internet having updated the drivers
of the internal wireless card.

What do you mean with the other regular network card? The internal standard
modem or the previous external adsl modem which i disconnected, having also
deleted the drivers.

Hi,

Computers have a network card that is for an ethernet cable (direct
connection with cable) as well as wireless network cards too.

Even though it is not used the driver can still blue screen if it is not
disabled.

Cheers,
Lara
