restore disappear files

      10-22-2007
I have windows vista on my computer and I have just one Drive C on my
computer .my husband formated the computer and he didn't know that I had some
files , video and photos on my documents in that drive.
unfortunately, my files are gone.
I used system restore , but it didn't help .
how can I restore ro return back my files and photos?

You could probably try drive recovery software, but I honestly feel you are
just out of luck.

Installing this will itself overwrite a bit of your unused disk space, but
it is pretty small. You can use it to find any files, that may be still
there:

http://www.ntfsundelete.com/

She said she tried using System Restore afterwards, and there is only one
drive. It can be deduced that she was just using that word incorrectly.

If you want to get technicial, I'll assume that she used System Restore from
the Vista DVD. And did not find an OS to restore!!!

I doubt it, and it is possible restore files from a high level formatted
drive, although it is not trivial.
