restore to an earlier date in windows xp

I erased all the information on my slave hard drive and cloned my operating
system to it by mistake. Is there anyway to retrieve the old data that had my
pictures stored. If I use "recover to an earlyer date" i get the message
"changes made to drives F after this point cannot be reversed because the
drive was either exculuded from system restore monitoring, or was turned off
or removeed. Anyway, I do not think system restore would have the pictures
stored . Any hope for me?

As you thought, System Restore was not designed for and does not protect
personal data.
There is nothing within Windows that will do what you ask.
Perhaps a 3rd party option:
