'Restore hidden updates' not showing the high priority update hidd

Hello, Greetings All,

I was being constantly bugged by Windows Update to install IE7. Currently
I'm running the IE6 latest Version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2...and I really
don't want to upgrade to IE7, because I don't like the looks or feel of
it...specially the only single drop-down serving both the backward and
forward buttons..it confuses me to no end (yeah I've tried it out, before
deciding to reverse the installation)...ok that's a whole different story.
Problem is, I was being constantly bugged by WU to install IE7, so I checked
'Don't show me this update anymore', and it was moved to 'Restore hidden
updates' category. But I was still getting this message:
"Important
You've hidden important updates
You've asked us not to show you one or more high-priority updates but your
computer might be at risk until they are installed. Restore them now."

So, what I did was I restored the update, and hid it again. And now voila,
it's no more even showing up in 'Restore hidden updates' anymore. I mean, the
IE7 update is no more showing up in 'Restore hidden updates'.
Ok, that was a little drastic. I didn't want that. I mean, I want it to be
hidden, so it couldn't nag me anymore...but I'd still like the choice to
enable it at a later date, so I can install it. This is worrying me now. So,
how can I get WU to show IE7 both as a 'High Priority Update' and/or an
update in the 'Restore hidden updates' category.
Please, any help would be appreciated much.

The reason for that is the temporary "remove" of IE7 from WU/MU/AU.
We may see it again there sooner or later as silent as it vanished.

Ok Ottmar, and thanks for the answer.
So you mean to say that, Microsoft itself has removed it from WU? Then that
begs the question, why would they do such a thing in the first place? Ok so
anyway, hopefully they will correct the situation, and let people install the
update or temporarily sideline it.

Yes.

There hasn't been any statement by MS to the temporary remove until now.
It may be related to the "new" version of IE7 released on October 4th and/
or the "IE7 URI handling" security issue affecting Windows XP and Windows
