Under options in the Microsoft Update home page, 'restore hidden updates' is
not highlighted as an available choice. Any advice on how I can correct this
situation? I'm needing to download sp2 so that I can install MS Office Home &
Student '07. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!

Try using their search engine for it; last i looked, it was still available
from MS. If not, it's mirrored at any number of sites; pick one you know
is realible, and downoad it from them.
Try looking at the windows "catalog" section too for it.
Or even borrow someone's CD copy of it if you know anyone with one.

Go to Windows Update site. Click on "Custom..." rather than
"Express...". This should give "Restore Hidden..." as an option. HTH, s

Joni,

Was SP2 listed at Windows Update and you hid it ? Was SP2 ever listed on
the MU site ?

Please see this first : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885627
If none of the Causes applies in your situation, SP2 can be downloaded
from -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
OR, you can order it on CD and just pay the shipping costs:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...s/default.mspx

Since SP2 is, in effect an OS upgrade due to significant changes,
*** strongly *** suggest you read these articles prior to installing it
in order to avoid major issues -

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my problem. As it ended up, my
Software Distribution folder was corrupt, but once I corrected that problem,
dozens of critical updates appeared for me to install. SP2 was one of them.
