restoring Hotmail as the default email program

This response is from a thread that is to old to reply to, so I am
creating this one to ask if Ramesh, or anyone for that matter, could
help answer a question. I used the little program reffered by Ramesh and
was able to get Hotmail back as my default email program, but now it
opens in a new window when I click the mail button on IE8, whereas
before it opened in the current window, or opened in a new tab. Is there
any way to fix this aspect?
