Restoring lost Notes from Vista side pane

Hi,
by accident I closed Notes and when I opened it again all my notes were
gone. Is there a way to get my notes back? Maybe these notes are included in
the Vista automatic backup which is performed on my computer regularly?

They are stored in this file
"C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windo ws Sidebar\Settings.ini"
Use notepad to open
