Result!! - Thanks Guys

I've been scanning this NG since SP2 started to download itself to my
computer and held off installing it because I was very busy and did not
need any computer problems.

However, having finally plucked up the courage to install SP2 on my
desktop PC last Sunday evening and by following all the advice in the
Service Pack Installation Checklist at
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm
the installation appears to have gone without causing any problems.

While trying to install the arrears of critical updates afterwards, I
encountered the error 80246005. This was sorted by following Taurarian's
advice in one of the specific threads on that error code. Many thanks,
Taurarian.

So I'm just posting to convey my thanks to all you guys who give advice
on here, you all do a great job, and I hope you keep it up because I
still have to install SP2 on my laptop :-)). So please don't go away.
